Read
the passage and answer the questions-
Once there was a rich merchant named Naduk. Unluckily he got into a huge debt due to loss
in his business. Now he had only a heavy iron beam. So he decided to try his
luck elsewhere. Before leaving he went to see his friend Lakshman. He gave his
iron beam to lakshman and he promised to keep that iron beam safely. After many
years Naduk returned and started his business in a big way. Then he went to his
friend and asked for his beam but lakshman said that the mice had eaten the
beam. Naduk thought of a plan. He told Lakshman that he has a present for him
and wanted him to send his son to take it. Naduk took the boy home and locked
him there. When lakshman inquired about his son, Naduk said, “a hawk carried
off your son.” Lakshman went to the court and told the magistrate. The
magistrate ordered Naduk to set his son free. Naduk said that before his eyes a
hawk carried off the boy. Lakshman said, ‘how can a bird fly off with a boy?’
Then lakshman said if mice can eat up an iron
beam then a bird can do this. Naduk related the whole story. Then
magistrate ordered Lakshman to return the iron beam and Naduk to return the
boy.
